Meghlat tiger reserve is one of the oldest tiger reserves in India. It was founded in 1974 and covers over 3600 square km. As this tiger reserve is located amid the gorgeous Satpura ranges in the Amravati district, the area surrounding the reserve is quite beautiful as well. The lush greenery of the teak forests makes you go back there over and over again. Apart from tigers, some of the wild animals that can be seen out there are wild boar, wild dog, gaur, deer, jackal, Indian wolf, striped hyena and many more.
